Schengen visa requirements for residents
Documents required to start the visa process
- Copy of the passport
- Copy of the residence permit from Absher (valid for more than 3 months after the return date)
- Copy of the previous visa (if available)
The required information will be sent by the assigned employee, and your response is needed to begin the process.
Procedures handled by us

- Initial bookings (flight and hotel), with the travel date at least 15 days after the appointment date
- Medical insurance from Caremed Company
- Sponsorship letter or no objection letter for travel (if the travelers are a family)
- Translation from an authorized office
Documents required on the appointment day
- Translation from an authorized office
- Original passport (valid for more than 6 months, signed by the applicant, with at least two blank pages)
- Hotel reservation covering the full duration of stay in the country
- Round-trip flight reservation
- Travel medical insurance covering the full duration of stay in the country
- Recent bank statement in English (issued within 14 days before the appointment) covering the last 6 months, stamped by the bank where the salary is deposited, and showing a balance of no less than 15,000 SAR per person. Online statements must include the **bank name, official stamp, and barcode** to be accepted.
- Recent employment letter in English addressed to the embassy, stamped by the employer, issued no more than 15 days before the appointment. It must include the applicant’s name, job title, date of employment, salary, and confirmation that the applicant is still employed. The letter must be certified by the Chamber of Commerce if the applicant works in the private sector (for government employees, the employer’s stamp only is sufficient).
- Original residence permit plus a translated copy in English
- Proof of relationship (marriage certificate or birth certificate) translated into English if the travelers are a family
- Copies of previous Schengen visas (if available)
- Two (2) recent personal photos, white background, size 3.5 × 4.5 cm

The visa processing time is usually between 7 to 15 working days after the appointment, but it may vary depending on the embassy’s discretion.
Very important
- If the applicant is under 18 years old, unemployed, or does not have a bank account, a first-degree relative must act as a sponsor by providing their stamped bank statement for the last 6 months along with a certified employment letter.
- The original passport of the sponsored applicant must be presented on the appointment day, with Chamber of Commerce certification if the sponsor works in the private sector.
For the Spanish visa:
A detailed travel plan must be submitted.
The employment letter must include contract details, the purpose of travel, and the travel and return dates.
For the Swiss visa:
A resident report from the Absher or Muqeem platform must be provided.
For the Italian visa:
A printout from the Social Insurance (GOSI) website must be submitted.
