Japan visa requirements for residents
Documents required to start the visa process
- A clear copy of the original passport, valid for more than 6 months and without any modifications.
- A recent personal photo with a white background.
- A copy of the valid residence permit from Absher, valid for more than 3 months.
- Mobile number.
- National address.
- Travel date and return date.
- Recent salary certificate attested by the Chamber of Commerce (if employed in the private sector).
- Name of arrival and departure airport.
- Have you traveled to Japan in the previous year? If yes, please provide (duration of stay during the last visit – date of issuance of the previous visa).
- Recent bank statement for the last 3 months.
- Copy of proof of relationship (Family Card – Birth Certificate) in case a family member is financially sponsoring the applicant.
The required information will be sent by the assigned employee, and your response is needed to begin the process.
Procedures handled by us
- Booking the appointment at the visa application center
- Filling out the application form
- Initial bookings (flight and hotel), with the travel date at least 15 days after the appointment date
- Medical insurance from Caremed Company
- Sponsorship letter or no objection letter for travel (if the travelers are a family)
- Translation from an authorized office
Documents required on the appointment day
- Translation from an authorized office
- Original passport (valid for more than 6 months, signed by the applicant, with at least two blank pages)
- Hotel reservation covering the full duration of stay in the country
- Round-trip flight reservation
- Travel medical insurance covering the full duration of stay in the country
- Recent bank statement in English (issued within 14 days before the appointment) covering the last 6 months, stamped by the bank where the salary is deposited, and showing a balance of no less than 15,000 SAR per person. Online statements must include the **bank name, official stamp, and barcode** to be accepted.
- Recent employment letter in English addressed to the embassy, stamped by the employer, issued no more than 15 days before the appointment. It must include the applicant’s name, job title, date of employment, salary, and confirmation that the applicant is still employed. The letter must be certified by the Chamber of Commerce if the applicant works in the private sector (for government employees, the employer’s stamp only is sufficient).
- Original residence permit plus a translated copy in English
- Proof of relationship (marriage certificate or birth certificate) translated into English if the travelers are a family
- Copies of previous Schengen visas (if available)
- Two (2) recent personal photos, white background, size 3.5 × 4.5 cm

The visa is issued within 7 to 10 working days after submission.
Very important
The visa is valid for 3 months from the date of issue, with a stay of 15 to 30 days depending on the embassy’s discretion, single entry.
